The Shandon Compost Collective is designated as an unincorporated association or charity in South Carolina. All donations will go towards helping run and provide materials for creating and distributing compost to patrons. Our current costs include:

- Building a three bin system with heat treated wood, chicken-wire, and hinged lids
- Acquiring burlap and plastic for compost distribution to patrons
- City water for keeping the pile hydrated
- Tools for managing piles
- Web hosting and domain
